Plans and details for our 55th reunion have been “snail-mailed” to all classmates. As of mid-June these 45 classmates or widows were planning and hoping to attend: Paul & Donna Arnold, Ken & Eve Barrett, Bob & Beverly Benson, Gene Bowers, Dan & Sue Briganti, Bill & Ann Clark, Dan & Helene Colussy, Ed Cope & family members, Rick & Beth Cueroni, Ted DeYoung, Dick Donnelly & Meris Hatfield, Wendell & Yvonne Driggers, Hank & Gloria Fisher, Jim & Shirley Grabb, Bud Grader & Rita Mehos, Kirk & Jackie Greiner, Hap & Virginia Hazard, Ralph & Diane Hill, Roger & Esther Holmes, Bernie & Peggie Hoyland, Clay & Jan Hughes, Jim & LaVerne Irwin, Bill & Helen King, Bill & Andree Kohl, Bill & Betty Ruth Lehr, Gerry Lipsett, Dick & Donna Littlefield, Bob & Iris Lynch, Roger & Juanita Madson, Barbara Mann, Roger & Jerry Mowell, Ed & Joyce Nelson, Hal & Sheila Olson, Bill & Mickey Reilly, Bill & Margie Russell, Bob & Mimi Schmidt, Ted & Mary Frances Smith, Wee & Jane Smith, Dimpy Spadafora, Fred Sponholz, Ray & Liz Stevens, Dave & Teresa Stryffeler, Dave & Isabel Tredeau, Bob West, and Dave & Millie Zurzuski. Five of our classmates weren’t sure whether they would be able to attend, and 21 classmates were still to be heard from.

We now have these three octogenarians in our class: Dick Kott (May 14th); Bud Mathieu (July 1st); and Frank Frauenfelder (July 2nd). On September 12th, Gene Trainor will join this significant “milestone club”.

On May 27th-29th, 70 men played in the Fifteenth (and Final) Jay Flanagan-Wee Smith Men’s Invitational Golf Tournament. The players, who came from these 14 states: CT, FL, MA, ME, MI, MO, NC, NJ, OH, VA, PA, TX, VA, and WA, had a median age of 72 years young and included these 11 classmates: Bob Benson, Mike Boggs, Dan Colussy, Rick Cueroni, Hank Fisher, Jim Grabb, Bill Kohl, Andy Saunders, Jim Shelton, Wee Smith, and Fred Sponholz. Unfortunately Gene Bowers, Gerry Lipsett and Roger Madson, who had played in most of the JF-WS tournaments, missed this one.

And, on June 18th, just after I submit these class notes, Jane and I will be leaving

for a long-planned three-week driving trip of Northern England and Scotland. This is the trip our classmates so generously gave to us at our 50th Reunion in 2003, but, for a variety of reasons and circumstances, we had to postpone taking it until now. Our trip will include stops at “B & Bs” in Sutton-on-Sea, North York Moors, Edinburgh, Inverness, Isle of Skye, Fort William, Glasgow, Lake District/Ambleside, Yorkshire Dales, and York.
